Murray’s attorneys contend the amounts of the substances were not determined and it can be crucial. The defense attorneys expect the case will be determined by technical and scientific data. According to defense attorney Ed Chernoff one syringe found at Jackson’s mansion was broken and has dried up since June 2009.
The judge ordered the evidence preserved and the testing that Murray’s attorneys have requested will destroy the evidence and can only be preformed one time.
According to Chernoff, Dr. Murray did not provide Jackson with anything that should have caused his death. According to the L.A. Coroner’s Office tissue samples taken from Jackson’s body were tested for various substances and levels to determine the cause of Jackson’s death.
The testing showed traces of propofol and lidocaine, which lead the coroner to determine Jackson died in part from acute propofol intoxication. This testing when done will most likely be done by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office. Murray is scheduled for a preliminary hearing that will begin January 4, 2011. Prosecutors are expected to provide enough evidence at the hearing to order Murray to stand trial.
